Monday: The Senators – Coyotes

“Each of us grew up with music in very different ways. We were high-school band geeks, we spun our parents Beatles vinyl as loud as we could get away with, we started crappy punk bands from our garage.

Music brought us together in Phoenix, and we gave life to melodies that had been in my head for years. It took some time to realize that our songs, at their core, stem from the the stories we share with each other and the city we’re from. These songs speak to love, family, community and the simple beauty of the Southwest.

Now, we want to share with you what we’ve found together.”

– Jesse from The Senators

Preview their song “Coyotes” below, if ya dig it… Vote to hear it again for the song of the week at the bottom of the page! You could also catch The Senators w/ Phoenix Afrobeat Orchestra this Thursday at The Orpheum in Flagstaff and on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

Tuesday: Wyves – The Speed Of Sound

Wyves

Formed in early 2015, Wyves have been hard at work creating their unique brand of Rock & Roll. Within a few months of gigging they had garnered acclaim from Phoenix New Times and Java Magazine, highly circulated publications in Arizona. Corey Gloden on vocals was recently named “Best Male Vocalist” in Phoenix New Times Best of 2016. “Spoils Of War”, the debut album from Wyves, is 11 tracks of Rock & Roll. It is an album that is both modern and classic in quality and conviction with great hooks and well thought out lyrics. “Spoils Of War” was released in February of 2016 to a Sold Out Crescent Ballroom in Phoenix, Arizona. With constant word of mouth and momentum they have landed sets at McDowell Mountain Music Festival 2016 and Apache Lake Music Festival 2015 and 2016. They have shared the stage in previous projects with acts such as: Guns N’ Roses, Aerosmith, Kid Rock, Cheap Trick, Peter Frampton, Rival Sons and Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros. Between the four of them there has been a lot of knowledge gained and miles traveled. They are ready to use that for Wyves, the culmination of experience and a driving passion to create this music. This band is truly where they want to be and this is the music they want to share. You can catch Wyves at Crescent Ballroom, Thursday May. 17th and on FacebookTwitter and Instagram. Check out their song “The Speed of Sound” below, if ya like what you hear, vote for them to receive Song of the Week!

Wednesday: Celebration Guns – Pangaea

Celebration Guns are a combination of nostalgia, energy, complexity, and joy. Their sound borrows from elements of dream pop, indie rock and noise pop resulting in deceptively complex music that is catchy and filled with hooks. Rarely able to sit still, their music stretches genres while retaining an undeniable pop charm. You can catch Celebration Guns on FacebookTwitter and Instagram. Preview their song “Pangaea” below and if you love it, vote to hear em again for the Friday Replay at the bottom of the page!

Thursday: New Chums – Blossom

New Chums

Emerging from Phoenix, AZ, the recently transformed indie rock band, New Chums, released their EP “See It For Myself” on October 6th, 2017 and it’s bright, sunny California vibe is making waves in the music scene. Likened to bands like The Strokes, Neon Trees, and Jimmy Eat World, the Chums really know how to bring big guitars, catchy choruses, and sparkle to every beat. The foursome includes:
Vocals/Guitar-Seth Boyack: A California native who not only fronts the band with energy and style, Seth’s the man behind the melodies that you won’t be able to get out of your head for days.
Drums-Ben Hedlund: Straight outta Boston with plenty of talent and previous recording/touring experience, Ben provides the heartbeat to the music-the kind that’ll leave you wanting more… and more.
Lead Guitar-Matt Lloyd: Recently coming off tour as a hired guitarist from Nashville, Matt’s expertise and his creative/catchy hooks (played to perfection every time) add a new bite and excitement to the overall sound.
Bass-Cassandra Clark: A girl from Michigan who can really play bass, Cassandra rocks a solid foundation of the low end and provides that steady rhythm and vibe you can’t help but dance to.
As the release of “See It For Yourself” has garnered great press already, New Chums will ride the wave of success by hitting the road in the US and abroad.  You can catch New Chums on FacebookTwitter and Instagram and see it for yourself; they’re an indie rock band with edge. Like sunglasses melted. Don’t forget to catch their song “Blossom”  below. If you like what you hear, vote to have them played again on Friday at the bottom of the page.
