AC/DC, Machine Gun Kelly, Twenty One Pilots & more among ‘Billboard’ Music Awards rock nominees

AC/DC, Machine Gun Kelly and Twenty One Pilots are among the nominees in the rock categories for the 2021 Billboard Music Awards.

All three of those acts will compete for the Top Rock Artist prize, as will Five Finger Death Punch and AJR. AC/DC and AJR and are also nominated in the all-genre Top Duo/Group category.

In the Top Rock Album category, you’ll find AC/DC’s comeback effort Power Up and MGK’s Tickets to My Downfall, as well as Glass AnimalsDreamland, Bruce Springsteen‘s Letter to You and Miley Cyrus Joan Jett and Billy Idol-featuring record Plastic Hearts.

The Top Rock Songs nominees are Kelly’s “My Ex’s Best Friend,” Twenty One Pilots’ “Level of Concern,” Glass Animals’ “Heat Waves,” AJR’s “Bang!” and All Time Low‘s “Monsters.” Both “My Ex’s Best Friend” and “Monsters” feature blackbear.

Other nominees include Billie Eilish for Top Female Artist, and 24kGoldn and iann dior‘s alternative hit-turned-giant smash “Mood,” which is up for three categories, including Top Hot 100 Song.

The 2021 Billboard Music Awards will air May 23 on NBC. The winners will be decided by various Billboard chart data, including album and song sales, streaming and radio airplay, measured from
March 21, 2020, through April 3, 2021.
