Beastie Boys‘ Michael “Mike D” Diamond has announced a charity auction in honor of his late mother, who passed away last year.

The auction includes various gold and platinum records and awards, including a “Best Video (That Should Have Won a Moonman” VMA given to the Beasties in 2009 after the trio’s “Sabotage” video lost in all five categories in which it was nominated back in 1994.

“I was never comfortable holding onto or looking at these awards/accolades that we got through the years,” Diamond explains in an Instagram post. “Don’t get me wrong — I’m appreciative of them, it’s just not something I need to look at.”

“Anyway, I would give them to my mom whenever they came in and she was really happy to have them,” he continues. “Sadly, she died this last year. She was an amazing woman, but that’s a whole other story. Sooooo we are selling some of the stuff that she had.”

The auction is open now via Sothebys.com. Proceeds will be donated to Good Eats, which provides food to kids in need.
