Beck, St. Vincent and Black Pumas are performing at the 2022 MusiCares Person of the Year gala, which will honor folk legend Joni Mitchell.
The annual pre-Grammys celebration, which benefits MusiCares, the charitable arm of the Recording Industry, takes place April 1 in Las Vegas. For over 30 years, the Person of the Year award has been given to a musician in recognition of their artistic achievements and philanthropic efforts.
“We’re excited to honor Joni together, in person, as a music community and can’t wait to bring this great event to Las Vegas,” says Laura Segura, executive director of MusiCares. “We will be celebrating with a purpose, toasting one of music’s greatest songwriters and musicians, while raising vital funds to address the critical health and social service needs of the music community.”
Other performers include Sara Bareilles, Leon Bridges, Brandi Carlile, Lauren Daigle, Herbie Hancock, Chaka Khan, Angélique Kidjo, Cyndi Lauper, Pentatonix, Billy Porter, Stephen Stills, Jon Batiste, Mickey Guyton, Allison Russell and Graham Nash. Batiste and Carlile will be the night’s Artistic Directors.
The gala will also include a silent auction, reception and dinner.
