Cage the Elephant has stampeded to a Billboard record.
The band’s current single, “Skin and Bones,” has jumped to number eight on the Rock Airplay ranking, which measures radio play across rock-formatted stations. That gives the Kentucky-bred rockers their 13th top-10 entry on the chart, which is the most for any act since Rock Airplay first launched in 2009.
Cage had been previously tied with Shinedown for the most Rock Airplay top-10s, with 12. Foo Fighters are in third place with 11, while The Black Keys, Muse and Twenty One Pilots are all tied with 10.
“Skin and Bones” is a track from Cage’s latest album, 2019’s Grammy-winning Social Cues. The effort also includes the lead single “Ready to Let Go.”
Last week, Cage announced a streaming concert set to take place January 30. The online event will raise money for the charity Bread & Roses.
