Lauren Mayberry will be opening select dates on the upcoming Death Cab for Cutie and The Postal Service co-headlining tour.
The CHVRCHES frontwoman will be on the bill for the trek’s opening East Coast leg, running September 5-14.
In an Instagram post, Mayberry writes that opening for Death Cab and The Postal Service is “truly a dream.”
“Screaming, crying, rehearsing, etc,” she says.
The news comes a week after Mayberry announced the launch of her solo career. She’ll be playing a run of U.S. headlining shows in September, and new music is forthcoming.
The Death Cab/Postal Service tour, which is currently scheduled into mid-October, celebrates the 20th anniversaries of both Ben Gibbard-led bands’ respective 2003 albums, Transatlanticism and Give Up.
The groups have also announced a new show for the trek, taking place September 23 at Chicago’s more intimate Salt Shed venue. The request window for tickets is open now through Monday, July 31, at noon ET. You’ll know if you’ve been selected to purchase tickets on Wednesday, August 2.
