Patrons of The Stag Inn were surprised to be sharing a drink with Coldplay frontman Chris Martin when he made a surprise appearance at the family-run British pub.
On Monday, The Stag Inn posted a video of Martin stopping by for a drink. While there, Martin met a couple set to get married in August, who he serenaded with a solo piano rendition of the 2014 Coldplay single “A Sky Full of Stars.”
“You never know who might pop in for a pint!” the video caption reads. “What a lovely man he is.”
Perhaps the highlight of the clip is a dog disinterestedly crawling past Martin as he’s performing, oblivious to the fact that an international music superstar is playing the piano.
Martin was just playing much, much bigger venues on Coldplay’s U.S. arena tour in support of their new album, Music of the Spheres. The outing wrapped up earlier this month.
