Where does Dan Auerbach finds the time to sleep? All he seems to be doing is constantly making solid music. And surprise! He has a new project coming to your ears this Sept. called “The Arcs”. He’s recruited the help from the ladies of Mariachi Flor De Toloache, Richard Swift, Leon Michels, Homer Steinweiss, Nick Movshon and Kenny Vaughn. Auerbachs writes in an email to NPR:
“This project was about making music with some of my longest relationships in music… Leon [Michels], Richard [Swift] and I have not only worked in The Black Keys together, but we have produced together, played on various projects of each other’s, and we’ve collaborated longer than a lot of bands stay together. It just kind of came naturally.”
Their first single “Stay In My Corner” was inspired by The Pacquiao/Mayweather fight this past year. (The track also makes a great soundtrack to all the dancing and holding that was taking place in that fight.) They released a 7” this year along with another track called “Tomato Can” but you can get both of those songs plus 10 more when their album “Yours, Dreamly” is out Sept. 4th. My pre-order is set and my ears can’t wait to hear more! Take a listen below and let us know what you think.
