Noel and Liam Gallagher are kinda-sorta-but-not-really reuniting for a new project.
The former band mates and estranged brothers will both be executive producers on an upcoming film documenting Oasis‘ iconic 1996 concert at England’s Knebworth Festival.
The currently untitled movie will be directed by Jake Scott, son of filmmaker Ridley Scott and director of videos for artists including Oasis, R.E.M., The Rolling Stones, Soundgarden, U2, Radiohead and The Smashing Pumpkins.
“It’s a story driven entirely by the music,” Scott says of the film. “A rock and roll experience, told in the moment, like a visual stream of consciousness that is built around the extensive archive footage from the event. No on-camera interviews or unnecessary celebrity recollections.”
The film is due out later this year.
