Everclear has announced a 30th anniversary reissue of the band’s 1993 debut album, World of Noise, which will bring the long out-of-print record to streaming services for the first time ever.
The expanded collection will arrive on June 10. It includes the original album remastered as well as six bonus tracks, two of which have never before been released.
“World of Noise has never been available digitally before because the masters reverted back to me several years before streaming services like Spotify and Apple Music came about,” says frontman Art Alexakis. “So now I’m finally going to release it digitally for the first time and do a vinyl pressing that includes some old demos and stuff.”
“It’ll be fun for the hardcore fans,” he adds. “I’m excited for everyone to get a chance to listen to this rarity of ours that really set the stage for this incredible career.”
Though it didn’t make much, well, noise upon its initial release, World of Noise set the stage for Everclear’s breakout 1995 album Sparkle and Fade, which spawned the tracks “Santa Monica” and “Heartspark Dollarsign.”
Everclear will launch a U.S. tour celebrating 30 years of World of Noise in June. They’ve also released a 20-minute mini-documentary about the album, which you can watch now on YouTube.
