The dog days may be over for Florence + the Machine, but their dalmatian days are just beginning.
Florence Welch and company are releasing a new song called “Call Me Cruella,” which was recorded for the upcoming film Cruella. The live-action Disney movie tells the origin story of the iconic One Hundred and One Dalmatians villain, with Emma Stone starring in the title role.
“Some of the first songs I ever learned how to sing were Disney songs,” Welch says. “And the villains often got the best numbers. So to help create and perform a song for Cruella is the fulfillment of a long-held childhood dream.”
She adds, “I’m so grateful to [composer] Nicholas Britell and Disney for allowing me so much creative freedom, and for trusting me with Cruella’s beautiful madness.”
You’ll be able to hear “Call Me Cruella” in full when the Cruella soundtrack is released May 21. In the meantime, you can check out a snippet of the song in the new Cruella trailer.
Cruella will hit theaters May 28. It’ll also be available on Disney+ with Premier Access.
