Foals is “definitely working on new material,” according to frontman Yannis Philippakis.
“I wouldn’t say that the oven has reached its proper temperature yet, but the ingredients are being gathered in the kitchen,” Philippakis tells NME.
“We’ll start making a record this year, but I don’t know when it will be ready,” he continues. “We’re going to start putting our heads together and there are lots of exciting and promising starts.”
Philippakis adds that the new material might have a more “stripped-back” sound akin to Foals’ recent batch of intimate performances as part of their CCTV Sessions series.
Foals’ most recent release is the band’s 2019 two-part album, Everything Not Saved Will Be Lost.
