Come June 17, Foals will be celebrating both their past and their present.

June 17 is the day the band’s new album Life Is Yours arrives, but they’ve just announced that they’re also re-releasing their debut album, Antidotes, on recycled vinyl.  The 2008 album was only available on vinyl when it was originally released. You can pre-order both Antidotes and Life Is Yours now.

Meanwhile, Foals have shared the latest track from Life Is Yours: “Looking High.” Singer Yannis Philippakis says of the song, “This is looking back to a more hedonistic time in my life, and a more innocent time in society in general, pre-pandemic and before the existential threat of climate change.”

“It takes place in an alley in Oxford, [England] with two clubs — The Cellar and The Wheatsheaf — that all the city’s nightlife gravitated towards,” he explains. “It was before clubs started to close down and our cities started to change into more corporate, arid places. There’s an element of being haunted by nightlife that’s no longer there.”

Foals had previously released the songs “Wake Me Up” and “2am” from Life Is Yours, the follow-up to the British band’s 2019 two-part release Everything Not Saved Will Be Lost. It’s Foals’ first effort following the departure of original keyboardist Edwin Congreave this past September.
