My Chemical Romance frontman Gerard Way is taking part in Unwound & Unplugged, an upcoming virtual concert and panel focused on mental health.
The online event, presented by the Sound Mind Live charity organization and the National Day of Unplugging initiative, aims to “promote a community of support around experiences related to mental health, isolation and the healing power of creativity and connection.”
“I know that it’s a really tough time for everyone right now,” Way says. “Coming together as a community and speaking openly about mental health is more relevant than ever.”
Unwound & Unplugged will stream live via the Sound Mind Live Facebook page on March 2 at 8 p.m. ET Other musicians participating include indie singer-songwriter Julien Baker and alternative artist DeathbyRomy.
