One of my favorite discoveries of 2015 right next to Bully and Wolf Alice. I’m talking Glass, mother effing Animals. (They should just change their name to that now that I’m thinking about it.) They’ve been lighting up festival stages all summer long gaining fans left and right. Their album ‘Zaba’ is what I call “Waterbed in the jungle, baby making love music”. And when you get GA to cover a song and they put their animalistic twist on it (i.e. Love Lockdown) they hit a home run every time. Just like their double cover for “Gold Lime” they just put on on soundcloud today.
Here’s a little note the guys wrote for their fans:
“So on the 9th August we are playing the Central Park Summer Stage in New York…and because its such an exciting moment for us all, we decided to take a song from a New York band that we love, and then Glass Animalsify it…
…then we thought…why do a cover of one song when you can cover two at the same time?
so here it is! its called Gold Lime
and its a cover of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs and Erykah Badu. simultaneously.
p.s. we know erykah badu is not from new york. but she’s awesome.”
