Glass Animals is Billboard‘s Top Rock Artist for the second straight year.

The publication has unveiled its annual year-end charts, which determine the biggest acts in a variety of different genres by using a combination of factors, including airplay, sales and streaming data for songs and albums, touring revenue and social media activity.

Having led the year-end Top Rock Artist chart in 2021, Glass Animals is again #1 in 2022 thanks to the enduring success of the group’s 2020 “Heat Waves,” which hit #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 after a record-breaking 59 weeks on the ranking.

“Heat Waves” has also been named 2022’s #1 Hot 100 song. In addition to its historic run to the top of the chart, “Heat Waves” broke the record for most weeks spent on the Hot 100.

Following Glass Animals on the 2022 Top Rock Artists ranking are Imagine Dragons, country-rocker Zach Bryan, “Bad Habits” artist Steve Lacy and Kate Bush, whose 1985 single “Running Up That Hill” became a resurgent hit this year due to its placement on Stranger Things.

“Heat Waves” is #1 on the year-end Hot Rock & Alternative Songs chart, followed by GAYLE‘s “abcdefu,” Imagine Dragons and JID‘s “Enemy,” Bush’s “Running Up That Hill” and the alt-pop hit “Sunroof” by Nicky Youre and dazy.

Meanwhile, the year-end Top Rock Albums chart was mostly dominated by classic rock, led by Fleetwood Mac‘s Rumours, Queen‘s Greatest Hits and Elton John‘s Diamonds.

In other year-end news, Imagine Dragons and JID’s “Enemy” made the top 10 on YouTube’s Top U.S. Songs of 2022.
