
grandson and Spiritbox are among the nominees for the 2022 Juno Awards, the Canadian equivalent of the Grammys.
The “Dirty” rocker, who hails from Toronto, is up for Alternative Album of the Year with his debut full-length Death of an Optimist, while the British Columbia metallers will compete for Breakthrough Group of the Year, as well as Metal/Hard Music Album of the Year with Eternal Blue.
Black Pistol Fire and cleopatrick are also nominated for Breakthrough Group of the Year. In the Best Rock Album category, you’ll find Black Pistol Fire’s Look Alive, The Blue Stones‘ Hidden Gems and The Dirty Nil‘s F*** Art.
The 2022 Junos take place May 15. Avril Lavigne is among the confirmed performers.
