While you could argue about their artistic merits, it seems that everyone agrees that Hoobastank is not a good band name. Even lead singer Doug Robb can admit that.

In their newly launched TikTok profile, Hoobastank posted a video of Robb looking over the band’s collection of platinum records, with text on the screen reading, “Realizing 20 years later you named your band Hoobastank.”

As he looks at his group’s name plastered all over the accolades, Robb sings along to that iconic — and now fitting — opening line from Hoobastank’s 2004 hit “The Reason”: “I’m not a perfect person.”

In the caption, Hoobastank posted the hashtags #BadBandNames and #RadBandNames, while also shouting out some other questionable band names, including Chumbawamba and Jamiroquai.

Hoobastank’s latest album, Push Pull, was released in 2018.
