Is Jack White working on new music? Judging from a cryptic quote from the White Stripes frontman, the answer is…probably.

In an interview with the U.K.’s Telegraph during the grand opening of the new Third Man Records London store, White was asked whether any new tunes are in the works.

“I want to say, but I probably shouldn’t,” he responded.

White then added, though, “Let’s see: I’ve been off the road for two years, and there’s a studio at my house — let’s put it that way!”

White’s most recent solo album is his 2018 experimental effort Boarding House Reach. He then released a record with The Raconteurs, Help Us Stranger, in 2019.
