This is how we remind you that Arcade Fire is not Nickelback.

A Jeopardy! contestant needed that reminder ahead of Monday’s episode, which featured the category ‘Billboard Top 200 Albums in 2021.’ The $1,000 clue read, “The Best Of this Canadian band, Volume 1 included ‘Rockstar,’ ‘How You Remind Me’ and 17 other songs.”

Contestant Kate buzzed in with “Who is Arcade Fire?”, only to get a “No” from host Ken Jennings.

Another contestant named Harsh then correctly solved the clue — “Who is Nickelback?” — to which Jennings replied, “Nickelback: never the incorrect response!”

Arcade Fire, like Nickelback, is from Canada, so Kate’s attempt wasn’t completely off base. Still, it’s funny to imagine legions of Arcade Fire fans annoyed that someone confused the indie darlings for one of the most famously hated rock bands of the past 25 years.

And in case you were wondering, The Best of Nickelback: Volume 1 came in at number 172 on the 2021 year-end Billboard 200 chart, which ranked the biggest albums of the year according to sales and streaming data. The compilation was first released in 2013.
