K.Flay has released a new song called “TGIF,” featuring Tom Morello.
The track, which you can download now via digital outlets, finds the “Blood in the Cut” artist contemplating the “absurdity of the work week” and the notion of Friday being a “rally cry for capitalism.” And who better to explore those ideas with than the guitarist from Rage Against the Machine?
“K.Flay is smart, powerful, honest and unafraid in her music and in her life,” Morello says. “As co-survivors of the Northern Illinois suburbs we have a kinship and a friendship that makes for great synergy when we rock together, as is on full display with the beautifully caustic ‘TGIF.'”
“TGIF” will appear on K.Flay’s upcoming EP, Inside Voices, due out June 11. The collection also includes the previously released track “Four Letter Words,” as well as a collaboration with Blink-182‘s Travis Barker.
