Lana Del Rey will be taking a new direction with her next album.

Speaking with W Magazine about the upcoming material, Del Rey specifically contrasted its tone with her 2015 effort, Honeymoon.

“In Honeymoon, there were so many color references: ‘Sometimes I wake up in the morning to red, blue, and yellow skies. It’s so crazy I could drink it like tequila sunrise,'” Del Rey explains. “For this new music, there’s none of that at all. It’s more just like: I’m angry.”

The “Video Games” artist adds that the new songs are “very conversational.”

“It’s a very wordy album,” she shares. “So there’s no room for color. It’s almost like I’m typing in my mind.”

The currently untitled record will follow Del Rey’s two 2021 albums, Chemtrails Over the Country Club and Blue Banisters.
