Less than a week since her album dropped, Lana Del Rey is already on to the next one.
Just one day after the 35-year-old singer released her seventh studio, Chemtrails over the Country Club, she revealed her “next project” — titled Rock Candy Sweet — will be released June 1.
Lana first shared the news on Saturday in an Instagram Story. According to Billboard, the “Summertime Sadness” singer shared a screenshot of a Harper’s Bazaar article which lambasted her latest album. Alongside it, she hit back, “Just want to say thank you again for the kind articles like this one and for reminding me that my career was built on cultural appropriation and glamorizing domestic abuse.”
She continued, “I will continue to challenge those thoughts on my next record on June 1 titled Rock Candy Sweet.”
In addition to the Story, Lana shared a post of the presumed cover art for the upcoming record. The post featured a headshot of the songstress looking innocently into the camera with her hair pulled back. She appears to be wearing a white tank top and a candy necklace. Along the bottom, the title “Rock Candy Sweet” is superimposed over the image in cursive with pink roses around it.
