Celebrate the holiday season with all your friends in LCD Soundsystem with The LCD Soundsystem Holiday Special.

The virtual event is set to premiere December 22 via the Amazon Music Twitch channel and Amazon Prime Video. It will be divided into two parts: a full performance featuring the debut live rendition of LCD’s “Christmas Will Break Your Heart” and, more curiously, a “’90s-inspired sitcom” titled All My Friends.

Directed by Eric Wareheim of Tim and Eric fame, All My Friends stars a cast of actors and comedians playing fictionalized versions of James Murphy and company, including Macaulay Culkin and Aparna Nancherla.

“I’ve already conquered film, James has conquered music, but we have yet to conquer the sitcom — the HIGHEST form of art,” says Wareheim, who will also be portraying Murphy.

“We’ve been working on this project for 15 years, and for this show we’re unveiling a uniquely emotional perspective of the sitcom universe for the holidays — provided by one of the greatest bands of all time and my dear friends, LCD Soundsystem,” he continues. “I can’t believe Amazon Music is letting us do this.”

Murphy adds, “I am similarly stunned that someone let us do this.”

Meanwhile, LCD Soundsystem is currently in the middle of the band’s 20-show residency at New York City’s Brooklyn Steel, which will run through December 21.
