To accompany their massive debut album, Hybrid Theory, Linkin Park released Reanimation, a remixed version of the RIAA Diamond-certified record. With Hybrid Theory celebrating its 20th anniversary last year, Linkin Park is bringing back the concept for another round.

Linkin Park has announced a new series of Hybrid Theory remixes in continued celebration of the album’s two-decade milestone. The first entry is an updated version of “One Step Closer,” courtesy of experimental duo 100 gecs.

“Part of the spirit of Reanimation was to take the Hybrid Theory songs that people knew so well, and let innovative artists flip them in ways nobody expected,” says LP’s Mike Shinoda. “I think 100 gecs did exactly that.”

You can listen to the “One Step Closer” remix now via digital outlets. A press release notes that “Additional remakes from other disruptors are in the works and could very well materialize soon.”

“Stay tuned for more as the next era of Linkin Park dawns now,” the release adds, cryptically.

The remix project follows the giant 20th anniversary reissue of Hybrid Theory, which was released last fall.
