Here’s your chance to collaborate with Mike Shinoda.
The Linkin Park vocalist/multi-instrumentalist is offering to produce any musician’s song that they submit through his Twitch channel.
“For 2021, I wanted to find a way to give back to my amazing community online,” Shinoda explains. “I’m looking for [vocalists], rappers, and songwriters who need help getting to the next level. If I find someone great, I’ll produce their track, live on my Twitch channel.”
Shinoda clarifies that the initiative isn’t a “formal contest,” and he’s open to any and all submissions. He does have three “rules,” though: he won’t provide vocals on a track; the recording must consist of only “vocals and one instrument, nothing filled-out, just the ‘song'”; and “no back-seat producing.”
“The track has to be in my hands until I feel like I’m done,” Shinoda says.
In 2020, Shinoda started Twitch livestreams, during which he’d record his own original music. He released three instrumental albums culled from the streams as part of his Dropped Frames project.
