Machine Gun Kelly is taking a page out of Green Day‘s book and turning his new album Tickets to My Downfall into a musical.
Speaking to NME, Kelly reveals that he’s already filmed the project, which he describes as a “pop-punk Grease.”
“It was almost like shooting 14 music videos back-to-back, but with a narrative that’s outside of my personal life stories,” Kelly explains.
“It focuses on other characters, and then me and [Travis Barker] are just the narrators,” he continues. “It’s an interesting concept because it hasn’t been done for an album ever, maybe outside of like Pink Floyd‘s The Wall.”
Tickets to My Downfall, which Barker executive produced, was released in September. It features the lead single “Bloody Valentine.”
