Machine Gun Kelly‘s drummer Rook is lucky to be alive after being the victim of a brutal attack where he was robbed and hit by a car.
TMZ reports that Rook, real name JP Cappelletty, was jumped when walking in the Hollywood Hills Tuesday night. Law enforcement say he was attacked by two men who leapt out of a vehicle.
Rook reportedly tried fighting off the robbers. It has been reported that he had thousands of dollars of property on him at the time.
Police say he was hit by a car during the incident and sustained injuries to his arm and foot.
The suspects are still at large and police are investigating.
The drummer has since taken to his Instagram stories to tell fans that he’ll recover, noting, “Don’t worry I’ll bounce back” in all caps along with a rock-on emoji. He also shared a selfie taken by MGK, who visited him at the hospital.
In the photo, the “Bloody Valentine” artist is seen flipping off the camera while Rook lounges in his hospital bed and sticks out his tongue.
