My Chemical Romance has canceled the band’s upcoming shows in Russia and Ukraine because of the former’s ongoing invasion of the latter country.
A statement from the reunited “Helena” rockers reads, “With deep regret, My Chemical Romance is cancelling our Ukraine and Russia shows in June, 2022. We hope to be able to play for the fans there soon.”
The affected dates include stops in St. Petersburg and Moscow, as well as in the Ukrainian capital, Kyiv. The Moscow show was part of Russia’s Park Live festival, which has previously seen artists including Slipknot, Iggy Pop and Biffy Clyro drop off the lineup in solidarity with Ukraine.
