Judah & the Lion will release their fourth album, Revival, on June 10. The first single, “HAPPY LIFE,” is out now. It’s their first album without co-founder Nate Zuercher.
“‘HAPPY LIFE’ was written while we were processing the sadness of our dear friend Nate’s, departure from the band,” say remaining members Judah Akers and Brian Macdonald in a statement. “We are so grateful to have him in our lives, and genuinely wish him the best as he moves forward with his own journey, outside of the band.”
“Regardless of all the ups and downs we have been through together, the thing that matters most to us is Nate being happy,” they add. “Things are different now, but we will never forget the beautiful ten years we shared of being in a band with him.”
Despite the loss of Zuercher, Akers and Macdonald say that recording the new album “was one of the most fun times we had in the studio,” Brian said. “There was a lot of freedom to it, and it felt like a retreat. We were all in it.”
Judah & the Lion will play Bonnaroo on June 18 and San Diego’s Wonderfront Festival in November.
