A new Phoebe Bridgers song called “Sidelines” is featured in the just-released trailer for the upcoming Hulu limited series Conversations with Friends.
Based on the 2017 novel by Sally Rooney, Conversations with Friends is about a college student named Frances who finds herself involved in a “series of relationships that force her to confront her own vulnerabilities for the first time.”
According to a press release, Bridgers is a “longtime fan of Rooney’s work,” and “connected with the material as a young woman.”
“Sidelines,” which follows Bridgers’ Grammy-nominated 2020 album Punisher, will be released in full this Friday, April 15.
Conversations with Friends premieres May 15. It stars Alison Oliver, Sasha Lane and Jemima Kirke, as well as Joe Alwyn, the boyfriend of Bridgers’ one-time collaborator Taylor Swift.
