Many a U.K. resident is probably looking back at Noel Gallagher in anger these days, since the former Oasis guitarist doesn’t wear a mask while in public amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
In a conversation with The Matt Morgan Podcast, Gallagher declares that he refuses to wear a mask, and deems the U.K.’s policy, which requires people to wear masks in places like department stores, but not pubs and restaurants, to be “bollocks.”
Gallagher adds that he didn’t wear a mask during a recent trip on a train, which resulted in an argument with a fellow passenger.
“There’s too many f***ing liberties being taken away from us now,” Gallagher says.
“I choose not to wear one,” he adds. “If I get the virus it’s on me, it’s not on anyone else.”
Gallagher did not address the danger that he could potentially spread COVID-19 to another person should he contract the virus unknowingly and continue to not wear a mask.
In the U.S., the CDC recommends people wear masks or face coverings in public settings. “Masks help stop the spread of COVID-19 to others,” the organization says.
