Original Oasis drummer Tony McCarroll was hospitalized last week after suffering a heart attack.

In a tweet posted Monday, McCarroll shared that he had the heart attack last Wednesday, August 25, and was admitted to the hospital that following Thursday. Given that he’s able to tweet under his own power, McCarroll appears to now be on the mend, though he does write that he’s “not quite out of the woods as yet.”

“[I] just want to give a massive big up to our [National Health Service],” McCarroll wrote, referring to the U.K.’s public healthcare system. “We are more than fortunate to have such a service! Thank you!”

McCarroll, who turned 50 in June, was part of Oasis’ founding lineup when the band was called Rain, back before even Liam and Noel Gallagher had joined. He played on Oasis’ 1994 debut album Definitely Maybe before parting ways with the group in 1995, though he is credited on one song off 1995’s (What’s the Story) Morning Glory?

By the way, McCarroll’s exit from Oasis wasn’t exactly a happy one, which may not surprise you given the band’s entire history. As BBC News reported, McCarroll claimed he was “unlawfully expelled” from Oasis, and had sued his former band mates for unpaid royalties. Oasis, meanwhile, maintained his departure was strictly related to his “musical ability.”
