Palaye Royale has premiered a very aptly timed cover of the Tears for Fears song “Mad World.”
For their version of the synth-pop classic, the trio added some electric guitar stings and some screaming vocals to give the track an industrial rock feel. You can download it now via digital outlets.
“Mad World” was originally recorded by Tears for Fears in 1982. It later gained a second life in the early 2000s when a version recorded by Michael Andrews and Gary Jules was featured in the movie Donnie Darko and the trailer for the Gears of War video game.
Palaye Royale’s cover follows their new album The Bastards, which dropped in May. It includes the singles “Lonely” and “Hang on to Yourself.”
