Those looking to jam their way into 2022 will need to find other plans.

Phish‘s New Year’s shows at New York City’s Madison Square Garden have been postponed due to the rising number of COVID-19 cases driven by the Omicron variant.

“The health and safety of Phish fans, our crew, and venue staff is paramount in our minds,” the band says in a statement. “While Phish has played shows this year as the pandemic has continued, this variant’s ability for rapid transmission is unprecedented.”

The four-night stand was scheduled to take place December 29 through January 1. The shows will now take place at MSG from April 20-23, 2022. The April 22 date will serve as the stand-in for the NYE performance, which will consist of three distinct sets.
