There have been a lot of unique projects that have come out of the COVID-19 pandemic, but we may now have the strangest.
Primus has shared a short film called Precious Metals, starring frontman Les Claypool and Metallica‘s Robert Trujillo. It was created in collaboration with Claypool’s son Cage, and finds the two bassists as Old West rivals searching for gold.
To make everything feel even more random, the two musicians are dubbed with exaggerated voice-overs.
The immediate question upon viewing Precious Metals is “Why?” But the easiest answer is “Why not?”
The film itself only lasts about four minutes, and is followed by a 90-second bass jam session by Claypool and Trujillo. You can watch it now streaming on YouTube.
