Rise Against is turning punk music into platinum records.

Both 2006’s The Sufferer & the Witness and 2008’s Appeal to Reason have now been certified Platinum by the RIAA in recognition of one million units sold.

The certifications give Rise Against their first-ever platinum albums. The Chicago outfit had previously hit the million mark with two singles: “Savior” and “Prayer of the Refugee.”

Meanwhile, Rise Against’s current single, “Nowhere Generation,” has also given Rise Against a career milestone: as the number-one song on Billboard‘s Mainstream Rock Airplay chart, it’s the band’s first song to conquer an airplay ranking.

“Nowhere Generation” is the title track off Rise Against’s new album, which dropped in June.
