Rome & Duddy, the duo made up of Sublime with Rome‘s Rome Ramirez and Dirty HeadsDustin “Duddy B” Busnhell, will be playing a run of actual, real-life live shows this week starting this Thursday in Dallas, Texas.

“It’s, like, obviously socially distanced, to my knowledge,” Ramirez tells ABC Audio. “For the first couple shows, I know that you can dine in and the tables are separated.”

“It’s dark with a dim-lit stage and one light hanging and a stool,” he adds. “It’s that kind of vibe, which is rad. Scary, but rad.”

The run, which will also make stops in Houston and Austin, Texas, and Durant, Oklahoma, is a continuation of Rome & Duddy’s Friends and Family tour, which launched early last year before the COVID-19 pandemic cut it short. For these shows back, the duo wants to keep the atmosphere low-key.

“Coming right out of what we’ve been through this year, it’d be kinda crazy to roll in to, like, a full band, lights, ‘Let’s go!”, pyro, you know what I mean?” Ramirez laughs.

“We’re starting small, with our tiny little bus and a crew,” he adds. “This will be the perfect introduction to kinda reintroduce live music back to our fans.”

Rome & Duddy recently released a cover of the Loggins and Messina song “Lahaina.” They’re also prepping an album of original material.
