If you look up the phrase “f*** it why not?” in the urban dictionary, there’s a good chance you’ll find a picture of Mateo jumping off of a 20-foot waterslide and spraining his ankle (true story, that did happen). Mateo is just a regular guy that likes to have fun by pushing the absolute limit and talking to people about life through his own lens. Growing up, he was actually the furthest thing from a career in radio: he was a baseball player and sometimes dual-sported with basketball, football, and even men’s volleyball at one point.

His love for radio comes from his love his music, in fact on his old iPod Nano, you’d find artists like Tyler the Creator, Mellowhype, Ghost Town, Falling in Reverse, Slipknot, and Rage Against the Machine. Combine all of those things and you get angsty, emotionally charged 20-year-old kid with a weird obsession for the Friday the 13th movie franchise and drinking smoothies instead of full meals. That’s Mateo.

When he’s not on the radio, you’ll usually find him at your local golf course hitting piss missiles with the boys, in his room watching dumb cartoons (his favorite is Regular Show), or just spinning his favorite albums/songs on his record player (he literally has too many favorites to count).
