Silversun Pickups have announced a digital release of their collaboration with producer and Garbage drummer Butch Vig, which was previously only available as a vinyl single for this year’s Record Store Day Black Friday.
The project, dubbed SSVU, consists of two new songs titled “David Lynch Has a Painting Made of Flies Eyes” and “Suzanne Ciani.” Both tracks will be available on streaming services this Friday, December 2, and are available now to presave.
SSVU was born out of Vig producing the last two SSPU albums, 2019’s Widow’s Weeds and this year’s Physical Thrills.
“There was so much kinetic energy during the making of Physical Thrills and sometimes it needs a place to live,” the Pickups said of the collab. “While we were listening to BV talk about his adventures with the famous, we would bounce around and start turning them into songs. And just like that, SSVU.”
