The Black Keys, Ozzy Osbourne, Wet Leg among nominees for 2023 Grammys

The nominees for the 2023 Grammys were announced Tuesday. Here is who was nominated in the rock categories:

The nominees for Best Rock Album are The Black KeysDropout Boogie; Machine Gun Kelly‘s Mainstream Sellout; Ozzy Osbourne‘s Patient Number 9; Elvis Costello and the Imposters‘ A Boy Named If; Spoon‘s Lucifer on the Sofa and IDLES‘ CRAWLER.

Nominees for Best Rock Song include Red Hot Chili Peppers‘ “Black Summer”; Turnstile‘s “Blackout”; Ozzy’s “Patient Number 9” feat. Jeff BeckBrandi Carlile‘s “Broken Horses” and The War on Drugs‘ “Harmonia’s Dream,” while “Patient Number 9”; The Black Keys’ “Wild Child”; Turnstile’s “Holiday”; Carlile’s “Broken Horses”; Bryan Adams‘ “So Happy It Hurts”; IDLES’ “Crawl!” and Beck‘s cover of Neil Young‘s “Old Man” are nominated for Best Rock Performance.

The Best Alternative Music Performance nominees include Arctic Monkeys‘ “There’d Better Be a Mirrorball”; Florence + the Machine‘s “King”; Wet Leg‘s “Chaise Longue”; Yeah Yeah Yeahs‘ “Spitting Off the Edge of the World” feat. Perfume Genius and Big Thief‘s “Certainty,” while Wet Leg’s Wet Leg, Yeah Yeah Yeahs’ Cool It Down, Arcade Fire‘s WE, Big Thief’s Dragon New Warm Mountain I Believe in You and Björk‘s Fossora are up for Best Alternative Music Album.

The nominees for Best Metal Performance are Ozzy’s “Degradation Rules” feat. Tony Iommi; Ghost‘s “Call Me Little Sunshine”; Muse‘s “Kill or Be Killed”; Megadeth‘s “We’ll Be Back” and Turnstile’s “Blackout.”

Meanwhile, in the Big Four categories — Song of the Year, Record of the Year, Album of the Year and Best New Artist — the nominees include Måneskin and Wet Leg for Best New Artist; GAYLE‘s “abcdefu,” Steve Lacy‘s “Bad Habit” and Bonnie Raitt‘s “Just Like That” for Song of the Year; “Bad Habit” for Record of the Year, and Coldplay‘s Music of the Spheres for Album of the Year.

Music of the Spheres is also up for Best Pop Vocal Album, and Coldplay’s BTS collaboration, “My Universe,” is nominated for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance.

Other nominees include Radiohead‘s Jonny Greenwood for Best Score Soundtrack for Visual Media for The Power of the DogBillie Eilish‘s Live at The O2 and Neil Young & Crazy Horse‘s A Band A Brotherhood A Barn for Best Music Film. Additionally, Robert Plant and Alison Krauss received several nominations, including Best Americana Album for Raise the Roof.
