Following a cryptic tease last week, The Lumineers have indeed announced a new album.
The fourth studio effort from the “Ho Hey” outfit is titled Brightside, and is set to arrive January 14, 2022. It’s the follow-up to 2019’s narrative-driven III.
The first preview from Brightside is the album’s opening title track, which you can listen to now via digital outlets.
“The song ‘Brightside’ was recorded in a single day,” says frontman Wesley Schultz. “It’s like a 15-year-old’s fever dream, an American love story in all its glory and heartbreak. The last couple left, on the run from something and all alone.”
You can catch the debut live performance of “Brightside” on Monday night’s episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live! on ABC.
Here’s the Brightside track list:
“Brightside”
“A.M. Radio”
“Where we Are”
“Birthday”
“Big Shot”
“Never Really Mine”
“Rollercoaster”
“Remington”
“Reprise”
