The Revivalists vocalist David Shaw has released a pair of new solo songs, “Heavy Soul” and “Shivers.”
The tracks, which you can download now via digital outlets, follow the release of Shaw’s first-ever solo tracks, “Shaken” and “Promised Land,” which dropped last fall.
“I’m excited to finally get more of my solo music out into the universe,” Shaw says. “This idea of ‘Heavy Soul’ was kicking around in my head for a while. I feel like that’s the kind of music I make. It’s soulful, but in a rock and roll way.”
Shaw adds that “Shivers” and The Revivalists’ hit “Wish I Knew You” share a “similar theme.”
“That same sentiment about stealing back time crept back into ‘Shivers’ in a different way,” he explains. “I really think my girlfriend is my soulmate, and we were maybe even together in another life. We’re currently stealing back that time.”
Shaw plans to release his debut solo album later this year.
The Revivalists’ most recent album is 2018’s Take Good Care, which features the single “All My Friends.”
