David Shaw‘s solo ambitions haven’t slowed down The Revivalists.

Speaking to ABC Audio, Shaw channels his inner Kool-Aid Man as he confirms the “Wish I Knew You” rockers have been working on new music.

“Oh yeah,” Shaw says. “Quite a bit.”

Like every other band, The Revivalists were grounded from the road over the past year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but that did give Shaw more time to write for the next record.

“I’ve had an entire year of being at home and being in my studio to get ready for [another Revivalists album],” he says. “It’s been really good creatively, honestly.”

Shaw adds that he’s “excited” about the upcoming material.

“The next band record, I think people are gonna dig,” he says.

The Revivalists’ most recent album is 2018’s Take Good Care, which features the singles “All My Friends” and “Change.”

Shaw, meanwhile, just released his self-titled debut solo album in May.
