Monday: Bogan Via – Rewind

Bogan Via is Bret Bender and Madeleine Miller. MADLY is the band’s second extended play album and it further develops their unique synth-pop sound.

MADLY was then recorded between 2013 and 2014 over two continents at the Red Bull Studios in Copenhagen and in their hometown of Los Angeles. Mixed in New York, the band co-produced the record with Le Chev (Fisherspooner, Frankie Rose, Lemonade).

Bogan Via has made a quite a mark on the scene, quickly playing packed shows including a European tour and festival appearances at: SXSW, Culture Collide, Folsom Street Fair, Phoenix Pride, Insomnia, San Diego Music Thing, Summer Ends, & Viva Phx. Bogan Via’s ability to win over fans with their unique sound has already earned them opening spots for the likes of: Phantogram, Little Dragon, Halsey, Todd Terje, Ladyhawke, Glass Animals, Twin Shadow, Darwin Deez, Austra, Yacht, Betty Who, and many more, as well as remixes by: Geographer, Miniature Tigers, Database, Micon, & Terminal 11.

For now, Bogan Via’s graceful and danceable indie rock is still under the radar, but they are quickly rising to the surface, bringing their melodies and pulsating beats with them. Over the past few years, Bogan Via’s music has been featured on every blog from EDM to Consequence of Sound. Tuesday: Katastro – Giving Me Up

Katastro formed in 2007 in Tempe, Arizona by Andy Chaves (Vocalist) Andrew Stravers (Drummer), Tanner Riccio (Guitarist) and Ryan Weddle (bassist).  Check out “Giving Me Up” off of their latest album “Washed” below and pick it up on iTunes or Spotify. Wednesday: Sleepwar – When We Were

Hailing from the desert expanse of Phoenix, Arizona, Sleepwar pushes indie rock to another level by combining new wave and synth-pop influence, with lyrics speaking to addiction, recovery, and the struggles of modern life. Sleepwar is led by Roger Willis (vocals) with Tim Woodbridge(producer, keys), James Allen (bass), Mark Pfister (guitar), and Brendan McGuinness (drums).

Utilizing lush synthesizer soundscapes, Sleepwar produces a sound that is both familiar yet unique. Fans of the five-piece rock outfit have likened their music to that of Tame Impala, the Killers, Imagine Dragons, and Local Natives.

Sleepwar was formed in 2016 when seasoned musician Roger Willis (Something Left To Learn, Goodbye Tomorrow) sought a new project focused on songwriting and collaborated with producer Tim Woodbridge, who had been composing with vocal placement in mind. Willis shared their rudimentary recordings to longtime friend James Allen, who immediately loved the new sound.

Allen joined Sleepwar as bassist and co-lyricist, where his former struggles with addiction became the foundation for early songs like “The Jaywalker.” Though Allen’s words drew from his personal demons, the lyrics would resonate with Willis and Woodbridge who had experienced both personal and familial addiction. While the founding members of Willis, Woodbridge and Allen would remain constant, the band’s evolution from brought to the lineup drummer Brendan McGuinness and guitarist Mark Pfister. Thursday: Archetypes Collide – White Noise

What at first was friends jamming during the late hours of the night in a local church in Phoenix, Arizona, quickly turned into a hard hitting vision with melodic direction and honest lyrical ambition. In 2013, with Kyle Pastor on vocals, Tyler Flamm on drums, and Cesar Marenco on guitar, Archetypes Collide was born.

In 2014 the trio released their first EP, Foundations. They enlisted the producing and recording expertise of Hiram Hernadez (ex The New Low, Glass Cloud). The EP was preceded by their aggressive single, “Hollow Ground”.

Soon after their first EP release, there was a change in the lineup; Brandon Baker (guitar) and Jared Knister (guitar) were brought on board.

In 2016, with their newly solidified lineup, they released a heart-pounding single, “Fractures”.

After touring in support of their EP and new single they returned to the studio to record a follow-up.

In 2018, their sophomore self-titled EP was released featuring the melodic anthem, “Reminiscent Life” and the heavy-hitting jam, “Well Wasted”.
