Monday: Grey Joy

Grey Joy is a alt-synth-pop act based out of Phoenix, Arizona. Late summer of 2017, Singer; Avidan “Wolf” Santana and Guitarist; Philip Alexander began to write the bones of their music in an art studio located in the heart of Downtown Phoenix. Soon there after, the song-writing tandem brought on the efforts of Cameron Clark (Synth), Jacob Marion (Bass) and Dan Bartley (Drums).  From an art studio to the recording studio, Grey Joy recorded their debut single “If There’s Heaven, I’ll Surely Be Burning.” with local great Cory Spotts who’s most notable credits are bands such as: The Maine, The Summer Set, Lydia and Bless The Fall. The single features a heavy synth influence straight from a Blade Runner soundtrack, a stand out bluesy guitar arrangement and dark-brooding vocals that plead and linger with you well after the first listen; asking the question, “Will I Burn Alone?” These elements combined together to give the lads of Grey Joy a sound they’ve owned as “Noir-Rock”.

 In mid January 2018, Grey Joy made roster changes to solidify their rythm section and add more dimension and versatility. The newly reloaded pentamerous collection now sets their sights on the early stages of writing and recording their debut EP with a desired release of late summer and hopes to be hitting stages near you in the coming months. Tuesday: The Wilders

The Wilders are a 3 piece band out of Gilbert formed by Cole Maurer, Parker Olszak, and Chris Fallon. Back when they were in high school, these three musicians started out by playing Weezer covers in the garage. Eventually the band released their first EP, “Time To Be Okay”, completely recorded and produced out of Cole’s bedroom. while playing shows at various coffee shops and dark basements around the phoenix area, The Wilders began work on their first full-length album, “ALIVE”, featuring the song “Tracing Faces”. ALIVE is out everywhere on January 26, 2018.
music is an incredibly powerful thing, and we believe that every song holds the opportunity to make the world a better place. we compose what we want to hear and write words that inspire us. This is The Wilders and this is our music.

Wednesday: Treasurefruit

Desert psych rock quartet Treasurefruit released their full-length debut Oct 30, 2015. Recorded on reel-to-reel tape and mixed by hand on a vintage desk, “Poisonous Dwellers of the Desert” offers fresh modern rock informed by elements from Django to Hank to Hendrix.

Fronted by singer/songwriter Anamieke Quinn, Phoenix’s “Desert Noir” pioneers elegantly weave psychedelic rock, western roots and soulful jazz pop into moonlit dreamscapes of the Great Southwest.

Treasurefruit was recently named one of the “Top Ten Female-Fronted Bands in Phoenix” by the Phoenix New Times, and singer/songwriter Quinn was the 2016 recipient of the annual Songbird Award by culture blog Yab Yum Music and Arts. Thursday: Post Hoc

Post Hoc is an indie rock venture located in Phoenix, Arizona. Post hoc originated in the fall of 2016, in a barracks room and a small town-house bedroom 374 miles apart. It has since evolved into producing eclectic and original art, pulling from inspirational sources such as Brand New, Jimmy Eat World, Metallica, Circa Survive and more.

Post Hoc has quickly made a name for themselves in the Arizona local scene and beyond. They were featured in azcentral’s “Phoenix Local Picks for October” by writer Ed Masley, issue #59 of Substream magazine’s “Indie Stream” for emerging artists and Mitchell Hillman’s “Sounds Around Town”.

Every stage performance is approached with genuine passion and electric energy. They have performed at a number of Arizona’s largest venues including The Marquee Theater, The Nile, Rebel Lounge, Club Red and more.

They debuted their first album “Daffodils” in October of 2017 which is available on iTunes, Spotify,and CD.
