Monday: Haymarket Squares – Horrible Inventions
The Haymarket Squares are Arizona’s finest purveyors of punkgrass. Righteous anger meets 4-part harmonies and bluegrass instruments for a moshpit hoedown! They got their start as a trio in 2009 and have since played more than 500 shows in the U.S., Canada and Europe. They’ve developed a loyal following among folks who appreciate rabble-rousing lyrics wrapped in a catchy melody. Known for our long sets and short songs, a typical Haymarket Squares show features ecstatic dancing, blindingly fast mandolin, and broad smiles. Tuesday: Love Like Fiction – Let’s Call It Closure
A pop-punk band based in Phoenix, Arizona and comprised of Nick Barker on Lead Vocals, Frankie Stapley on Guitar and Vocals, Marin Bridges on Guitar, Paul Ritchie on Bass and Tara Goltz on Drums. Love Like Fiction is the brainchild of Tara Goltz and Marin Bridges who brought the band together in July of 2018 by recruiting Nick, Frankie and Paul. This came after a few years of trying out different members and attempting to bring Love Like Fiction to life. Drawing inspiration from bands like Panic! At the Disco, Brand New, New Found Glory and Mayday Parade, Love Like Fiction’s sound is upbeat and poppy with a melancholic undertone. Wednesday: decker. – Burnin’ Grass
In the simplest terms, decker. is a singer/songwriter based in Sedona, Arizona. A more apt description, however, would be to call him a musical mystic. He himself describes his sound as “psychedelic desert folk,” drawing inspiration directly from the vortexes of the red rock mountains and canyons where he resides—an area so widely known for its resounding energy that millions of spiritual travelers flock there every year in an attempt to harness its power. With a handful of self-released recordings to his name that have garnered praise from KEXP, Magnet Magazine and No Depression, decker. signed with revered independent label Royal Potato Family in 2017 to release a 10-song retrospective entitled ‘Into The Red.’ In 2018, he returns with a full-length collection of new material, ‘Born To Wake Up.’ Where previous albums have leaned darker in mood and content, this latest finds him maturing in his artistic viewpoint, offering more optimism and light across a range of songs like “Awake,” “Smudge” and “The Matador.” Glide Magazine recently wrote, “decker. is one of the country’s most criminally underrated songwriters.” With the release of ‘Born To Wake Up,’ that should all be changing. Thursday: Hyperbella – Curiosity
Hyperbella is an intergalactic neo-soul band comprised of guitarist Cassidy Hilgers, keyboardist Carly Bates, bassist Brenden McBride, and drummer Astrud Aurelia. Drawing from influences such as Hiatus Kaiyote, Esperanza Spalding, Dirty Projectors, David Bowie, and Radiohead, Hyperbella fuses complex harmonies, poly rhythmic textures and alternative jazz improvisation. Based in Phoenix, Arizona, Hyperbella has had the pleasure of sharing stages with bands such as House of Stairs, Alassane, The Stakes, Treasurefruit, London Hack, The Geibral Elisha Movement, Phoenix Afrobeat Orchestra, The Urban Renewal Project (LA), Novala (LA), Jay Som (Oakland), and Crumb (LA).
