Monday: Katastro – Flashback
Katastro formed in 2007 in Tempe, Arizona by Andy Chaves (Vocalist) Andrew Stravers (Drummer), Tanner Riccio (Guitarist) and Ryan Weddle (bassist). They just released their new album “Washed” on July 20th and are about to hit a US tour with a show at The Van Buren August 18th. Check out “Flashbacks” below and pick it up on iTunes or Spotify. Tuesday: Fairy Bones – Incapable
After being named “Best Local Band” of 2015 by Phoenix New Times, the group of colorful misfits has been lighting up the stage as support for KONGOS, St Lucia, Mother Mother, Marcy Playground, Fuel, Alien Ant Farm, and Kyle Gass Band. Paste declared Fairy Bones a “four-piece art/glam/rock monster” while praising lead singer Chelsey Louise’s “incomparable pipes,” which they noted, “Few rock voices today can compare, of any gender.”
Imagine epic, dramatic alternative-pop songs sent out to the back rows of a stadium by a charismatic force of nature who could more than hold her own against whatever Florence Welch could throw her way, sharing space on a stunning debut with songs that filter lofty art-rock sensibilities through the reckless abandon of punk.
That was “Dramabot,” the debut album with which Fairy Bones confirmed their standing on the front ranks of the Phoenix music scene. Together with Bob Hoag (The Format, Scary Kids Scaring Kids), tucked away at the infamous Flying Blanket Studio, Fairy Bones managed to craft an album that surpassed all of their wildest expectations.
They are now coming back into the proverbial spotlight with the release of their single “No One Can Suffer Like I Can” and giving fans a taste of what to expect in 2018 with their sophomore album, “0% Fun.” Check out Fairy Bones latest music video for “Incapable” below and follow em on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. Wednesday: Celebration Guns – Better Days
Celebration Guns are a combination of nostalgia, energy, complexity, and joy. Their sound borrows from elements of dream pop, indie rock and noise pop resulting in deceptively complex music that is catchy and filled with hooks. Thursday: Perfect Sense – Until The End
Perfect Sense is a melodic hardcore punk band based out of Phoenix, AZ. Formed in spring of 2014, the band consists of Shane Pogue on vocals and rythm guitar, Rafael Iryia on lead guitar, Jesus Quintero on bass, and Sho Wie on the drums. Each one brings their own take on the skate-punk feel that has defined Perfect Sense since the formation. In September of 2017, the band released their debut album “Out to the World” via Slipshod Records.
