Monday: Paper Foxes

Paper Foxes

After bouncing around the Phoenix scene for a few years with multiple line-ups and releases, Paper Foxes are back their newest death disco hit “Pop Confessions”. A bright and energetic music video introduces the band with their new guitarist Oliver Lemke as they jump around a tennis court in fierce competition. Thoughtful lyrics echo “the Rapture is here to stay” as Paper Foxes face the future in 2018s questionable economic and political climate. This single will be the first release of the bands debut full length album set to come out in early fall! With influences like the Chameleons, Interpol, Franz Ferdinand and the Strokes, Paper Foxes are a dangerous post-punk quintet emerging from the concrete desert of Phoenix Arizona. Catch Paper Foxes this Saturday, Feb 23rd at Fairy Bones 0% Fun Album Release show at Crescent Ballroom. Check out their new song “Pop Confessions” below then give em a follow on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. If you like what you hear, vote for them to get a replay at the bottom of the page.

Tuesday: Fairy Bones

Fairy Bones New Photo

2016 was a big year for alternative/pop/rock quartet Fairy Bones. Touted by the press for their debut album, they then went on a short hiatus to record – only to return to debut their new material and sound as direct support for thrice Grammy-nominated trio Highly Suspect on their west coast tour.

After being named “Best Local Band” of 2015 by Phoenix New Times, the group of colorful misfits has been lighting up the stage as support for KONGOS, St Lucia, Mother Mother, Marcy Playground, Fuel, Alien Ant Farm, and Kyle Gass Band. Paste declared Fairy Bones a “four-piece art/glam/rock monster” while praising lead singer Chelsey Louise’s “incomparable pipes,” which they noted, “Few rock voices today can compare, of any gender.”

Imagine epic, dramatic alternative-pop songs sent out to the back rows of a stadium by a charismatic force of nature who could more than hold her own against whatever Florence Welch could throw her way, sharing space on a stunning debut with songs that filter lofty art-rock sensibilities through the reckless abandon of punk.

That was “Dramabot,” the debut album with which Fairy Bones confirmed their standing on the front ranks of the Phoenix music scene. Together with Bob Hoag (The Format, Scary Kids Scaring Kids), tucked away at the infamous Flying Blanket Studio, Fairy Bones managed to craft an album that surpassed all of their wildest expectations.

They are now coming back into the proverbial spotlight with the release of their single “No One Can Suffer Like I Can” and giving fans a taste of what to expect in 2018 with their sophomore album, “0% Fun.” Catch Fairy Bones this Saturday, Feb 23rd for their 0% Fun Album Release show at Crescent Ballroom. Preview their new song “Killing Me” below, pre-order their new album 0% Fun HERE and fully support FB by voting for them for the Friday Replay at the bottom of the page.

Wednesday: Bear Ghost

Bear Ghost

Bear Ghost is a rock band from Phoenix, AZ that fuses intricate musicianship, melodies and song structure to deliver a one of a kind sound. Since the release of the band’s first full album entitled “Blasterpiece“, the Phoenix market has taken notice.

Bear Ghost has quickly become one of the area’s favorite bands and “Blasterpiece” has received high critical acclaim, winning the market’s Album Of The Year for 2016 from the Phoenix New Times, despite its February release date.

“Blasterpiece” was written and performed by Bear Ghost and recorded by Jeremy Parker at Premier Studios. Parker, a Grammy winning engineer and holder of many other industry awards, also recorded the band’s debut EP entitled “Your Parents Are Only Marginally Disappointed In Your Musical Taste” released in 2014.

Thursday: Doll Skin

Doll Skin album cover Manic Pixie Dream Girl

If life was a comic book, Doll Skin would be right at home in the larger than life color pages. Four Glitter-fueled, teenage, punk rock superheroes, wielding mighty guitars, as they battle tyranny and oppression with adrenaline-fueled rock anthems. Shortly after forming in 2013, when members Vocalist Sydney Dolezal, Guitarist Alex Snowden, Bassist Nicole Rich, and Drummer Meghan Herring met at the Phoenix SCHOOL OF ROCK, the fledgling band came to the attention of Megadeth bassist and co-founder David Ellefson, who took them under his wing, and together they began a sonic assault on the West Coast, playing shows with Social Distortion, Green Jello, DRI, SLUNT, and many more, and set out to work on their Ellefson produced debut studio release.

2015 saw the Worldwide release of Doll Skin’s debut EP In Your Face, through Ellefson’s own imprint EMP – Ellefson Music Productions, distributed Megaforce Records, (also known as the launching pad for legendary big 4 thrash bands Metallica and Anthrax and many more.) and Cargo Records in Europe, and set Doll Skin on a trajectory straight to the ranks of the Hard Rock elite.

Says David, “When I was first introduced to Doll Skin, I knew there was something really special there. Through working with them as a Producer, it became even more apparent what these girls were capable of.”

Catch Doll Skin this Saturday, Feb 23rd at Fairy Bones 0% Fun Album Release show at Crescent Ballroom and on FacebookTwitterInstagram and Youtube. Preview their song “Daughter” below, then give em your love votes at the bottom of the page for the Friday Replay!
