Thursday: Bid For Escape – Nothing Left To Lose
Front man, Aaron Lopez in the summer of 2017, originated BID FOR ESCAPE. The 32 year old brushed off the rust from not playing music in over 8yrs and connected with friend and respected local AZ recording engineer George White (of Saddles & Wild Earth). Lopez wrote the EP “Nothing Left to Lose” and recorded it along side White’s producing guidance and the help of Danny Lopez (of Table Top Joe & Cry Night) on Bass. “Nothing Left To Lose” is available on all online music stores such as iTunes, Spotify, Apple Music & Google Play and more…
Once Lopez re-plugged himself in the music scene again he reconnect musically with life long friend and old band mate, of Downcast Fable, Anthony Lee (of Wild Earth). This led to the more recent connection of the very talented guitar player Jacob Ramirez. Since late 2017, Lopez has been playing live shows as Bid For Escape with Lee, Ramirez & D. Lopez. With momentum of the EP still thriving, the band is looking to play more shows locally while currently writing more music and hoping to release the new music by the beginning of the year in 2019.
In the meantime, an acoustic single of “Nothing Left to Lose” is being released on all online music stores 10/8/18. The music for this acoustic single was recorded and composed all by Jacob Ramirez, Vocals by Aaron Lopez, and then Mastered by Anthony Lee. This recording is a glimpse of what to come as the AZ homegrown band utilizes all their talents to keep Bid For Escape music as DYI as possible. Wednesday: Barefoot – Alone Then
Barefoot consists of Dylan Fay on vocals, Dylan Heinrich and Eric Folts on guitar, Patrick Smiley on bass and Christia Aroz on Drums. “We’re just 5 music obsessed friends jamming in Tempe, AZ. We rehearse as a band several nights a week & all love different kinds of music. After playing together awhile, we eventually stumbled onto the Alternative Rock sound we have now because of our vocalists singing style and our love for the genre and bands like Incubus, Circa Survive, & Queens of the Stone Age. Also, the scene around us as we’ve been developing shaped our sound a bit, playing with bands like Katastro & Sunset Voodoo. We’re just another band trying to perfect a unique sound of our own. Our new album comes out this Thursday December 1st. We recorded the drums at Salt Mine Studios in Mesa, Arizona with our good friend and producer Matt Keller from the band Lydia. We did instruments and everything else at his home.” You can find Barefoot at their Album Release party for “SHOOK” at the Valley Bar, Friday Sept. 5th and on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Youtube. Check out their song “Alone Then” below, then if ya love it, vote to hear it again for Song of the Week at the bottom of the page.
